The route takes you through the 294-hectare Lera area, which is divided into a crystallisation zone and a seawater concentration zone. On the 1.3 km-long route, you will learn how salt is produced according to medieval tradition. The trail also includes a shop, a visitor centre and a refreshment room. The entire route is presented with an audio guide with QR CODE.

LEARNING PATH SALTWORKS

The route takes you through an area called Alto. This is the oldest part of the salt pans. The path leads over a wooden bridge and continues along the salt marsh embankment, joining the macadam path along the Dragonja. From here, you can return to the starting point or continue along the Dragonja to its outlet.  The route is presented in its entirety with an audio guide with QR CODE.

ALONG THE DRAGONJA TO THE ESTUARY

The route takes you along a macadam path along the Dragonja River all the way to its mouth. Before the estuary, you can turn right and visit the Museum of Saltworks. From 1.4. to 31.10., free bike rental is available. The whole route is presented with an audio guide with QR CODE. Dogs are allowed on a short leash.
