Solo tour of the park
A self-guided tour of a protected area is a wonderful way to connect with nature and enjoy its beauty. Slovenia has a number of protected areas dedicated to preserving natural values and biodiversity. These areas include national parks, regional parks, landscape parks, nature reserves and natural monuments.
- Respect for nature: do not disturb animals and plants, do not take anything from nature and do not leave litter behind.
- Follow signs and trails: stick to the marked trails and follow all information boards and signs.
- Safety: Take care for your own safety, wear suitable footwear and clothing, carry plenty of water and, in summer, adequate sun protection.
- Information: Before your visit, find out about the specific features of the area you intend to visit and any restrictions or prohibitions.
Slovenia's protected areas are extremely diverse and offer many opportunities to explore and enjoy nature.
A self-guided tour of the Sečovlje Salt Pans is an excellent opportunity to explore this unique landscape park. During your visit, you can enjoy walks through the abandoned part of the salt pans called Fontanigge, where you will see extensive meadows of herons and many birds. You will also discover the rich cultural heritage of the salt pans, including the abandoned salt pans houses.
