GREYLAG GOOSE

The commonest goose species in Slovenia during the winter, although not the most abundant one.
In Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, it occurs in small groups or individually. Here, too, Greylag Geese can be observed in the winter months, notably in February and March. Some individuals may be seen while migrating through the area. They live in larger salt-pan basins, on the Dragonja river, in the grassland next to the nearby airport, and at sea.
