LAPWING
This bird overwinters regularly only along the Slovene coast.
The highest number recorded at a time in Sečovlje Salina Nature Park was 300, although only a few tens are known to spend the winter there, mostly in the salt-pan basins. In somewhat higher numbers, they occur during spring and autumn migration. It has been noted, however, that the numbers of overwintering Lapwings have been reduced in the pans during the last few years.
