GREY PLOVER
At the salt-pans, this bird often gives itself away by its characteristic calling.
It can be observed individually or in small groups, most often on mudflats and at the estuary of the Dragonja river, at times also on the smaller and bare salt-pan levees. At the pans it occurs in May, sometimes in June. It is quite common in October, when seen in the company with sandpipers and Bar-tailed Godwits
