CURLEW SANDPIPER
At the Sečovlje salt-pans, this wader stops during April and May migration.
It can be seen individually or in small groups together with Dunlins as well asTemminck's and Little Stints. Quite often, this bird can occur completely on its own. In April and May, the Curlew Sandpipers are more or less in their breeding plumage, which is the reason why they can hardly be confused with any other stint or sandpiper species. They are easily recognised also by their gently downcurved bills.
