COMMON PHEASANT
Phasianus colchicus
It usually inhabits woodland margins, hedges in the middle of fields, overgrown pastures, marshy meadows, and salt-pan edges.
In Sečovlje Salina Nature Park, it can be found especially in the area of Stojbe, individually also at Fontanigge and along the nearby airport. It is a year-round species and a breeder st Stojbe.
