Research workshop for children.

Yesterday, as part of the LIFE URCA PROEMYS project, we held a research workshop for children. During the workshop, we researched the bog turtle (Emys orbicularis) in the Sečovlje Saline Landscape Park. The workshop was attended by pupils from the 4th C class of Lucija Primary School.
The work took place in the field in the area of Rudnik, where the children participated in sexing, ageing, measuring, weighing and photographing the turtles and recording the data. They learnt about the habitat of the marsh fritillary and about the conservation measures we have implemented in the park as part of the project.
The atmosphere was unique.
LIFE UrCA PROEMYS, is a 5-year project for the conservation of the Marsh Harrier in Slovenia and Italy. The project is led by WWF Italy and, in addition to the 7 Italian partners, the Slovenian partners Public Landscape Park Ljubljansko barje and Soline Pridelava
