This plant is very similar to its cousin Fruticose Saltwort, except that it is distinguished for its relatively long stalks.
It is a fairly rare halophyte on more or less dry ground. It grows in large clusters at higher parts of the salt-pans and can be quite often found in the shelter of the abandoned houses at Fontanigge.
