The vision
Our long-term objectives as far as the management of the Park is concerned are oriented towards protection and sustainable conservation of the natural beauties and thus biodiversity of the Sečovlje salt-pans as well as protection of cultural heritage and the characteristics of the littoral cultural landscape of Slovene Istria.

In order to reach these goals, we need to preserve:
  • salt-making as an economic activity, which in fact created this area;
  • the diverse salina ecosystem and its habitat types that are closely associated with the characteristic biodiversity;
  • the traditional production process and technology in the existing range of the area.
The management's long-term objectives are protection and sustainable conservation of the Park's natural beauties.
