Benečanka is the name of the shop reigning on the corner of Tartini Square in Piran. It was built in the mid-15th century and has been preserved, together with its architecture, till this very day.

The first owner of Benečanka was the Del'Bello family. On its ground-floor, mostly coffeeshops have been kept in the past.
The Winged Lion with the inscription Lasa pur dir, built in between the two windows on the second floor, greatly aroused the people's imagination. The inscription was supposed to be ordered by an Italian merchant, who had bought the house for his mistress, a native of Piran, in order for her to wait for him, on the corner balcony, each time he would reach the port.
