The terns' LIFE nest-site completed
Today, the employees of SOLINE Salt Production, d.o.o., concluded the works at the terns' nest-site.
The last sluice gate was built at the site, as well as the wall pilot in the channel parallel to the Lera channel and the lock gate for the inflow of seawater from the same channel. The ramps on which the terns' young will be able to return to the nest-site have also been built on the artificial islands (as it is well known that the young like to treat themselves to short vagrancies in the nest-site's vicinity, the access back to the islands would be totally impossible for them without these ramps). At 10.30 hrs on Thursday, June 30th 2006, we shall »ceremoniously« inundate the nest-site and thus provide for its safety.
