Mudflat
Mudflat is a sandy or clayey bank, inundated at high tides and dry during low tides.

Mudflats are extremely rich habitats, with extremely resistant organisms living there. They adapted to the great daily oscillations in water levels and temperatures. Mudflats are feeding sites of numerous birds, for they are often overgrown by halophytes and full of bivalves and invertebrates buried in the silt.
