The sea in front of the pans
Most characteristic of the aquatory in front of the Sečovlje salt-pans are the numerous shoals created by the Dragonja river by its depositing of sediments.
Its significance becomes particularly obvious in late autumn and in winter, when numerous birds take a rest here during their migration towards the south or spend the winter here.
