BROWN HARE
Lepus europaeus 
The Brown Hare is a true master of survival. Modest, adaptable and tenacious as it is, it is always able to find, thanks to its vigilance and cautiousness, a safe little place and to escape safely.
In the area of Sečovlje salt-pans, it used to be much more common, when resting during the day in the ruins of old salt-pan houses, whereas today only rare individuals that live around Stojbe can be still noted here and there.
