In Sečovlje Salina Nature Park since October 2010 we performed MANSALT LIFE - Man and Nature in Sečovlje pans. The main objective of the project is to preserve biodiversity in the Salina.

Yesterday a group of members of the European Parliament from Germany, Estonia and Great Britain, accompanied by the Slovene member of the European Parliament Mojca Kleva Kekuš, visited the park. We presented them the protected area, its management model and the ongoing EU projects. During the meeting we raised the issue of park’s management authority legal status when applying for EU funds. The company SOLINE is a private company managing a state park, performing a public service of nature conservation and therefore has limited possibilities for EU funding because of its profitability.

On Tuesday, 05/02/2013 at 10.00 we invite you to join us at the press conference in the framework of the project LIFE MANSALT - Man and Nature in Sečovlje salt pans. The press conference will take place in the visitors center of Sečovlje Salina Nature Park. At the event we will present the progress of the project, reconstruction works in the St. Bartholomew channel and show you the new floating excavator purchased within the project.

On 16.11.2012 the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park hosted Mr. Milan Zver, MEP and his wife. We presented the area's most precious natural and cultural heritage, and the results of ongoing works of the project LIFE + MANSALT.

We have developed a special 40th anniversary logo, prepared a 40th anniversary booklet about the Convention, its past, present and future, to be formally launched on the 2nd February, planned a special anniversary celebrations with the international community in Ramsar city, Iran in March and in Geneva, Switzerland in May, penned 12 key messages about Ramsar and wetlands to be shared from the 2nd February 2011 to the 2nd February 2012 – and more.
