In Sečovlje Salina Nature Park since October 2010 we performed MANSALT LIFE - Man and Nature in Sečovlje pans. The main objective of the project is to preserve biodiversity in the Salina.

Today we carried out the first workshop for preschool children in the Public Preschool Morje in Lucija. After the presentation of species and habitats that are protected through the LIFE project children created their own paper-made Black-winged Stilt. Through the workshop activities children realized the importance of preserving wetland habitats for various flora and fauna species and their role in providing water for humans.

This special section dedicated to the 40th anniversary will keep you up-to-date with the Ramsar Secretariat’s plans for celebrating in 2011.
We have developed a special 40th anniversary logo, prepared a 40th anniversary booklet about the Convention, its past, present and future, to be formally launched on the 2nd February, planned a special anniversary celebrations with the international community in Ramsar city, Iran in March and in Geneva, Switzerland in May, penned 12 key messages about Ramsar and wetlands to be shared from the 2nd February 2011 to the 2nd February 2012 – and more.
